Banking for a Cause
Banking for a Cause was launched by Northfield Bank in 2011 as an additional way to lend our support to local community organizations.
The Banking for a Cause concept was developed as a way to enhance our ongoing fundraising efforts. By organizing our fundraising programs under the Banking for a Cause umbrella, we are able to generate greater awareness and support for our local charities.

Northfield Bank's Banking for a Cause will collect donations at each of our branch locations during the months of March, May, October and December each year.
The chartities participating in the Banking for a Cause March collection are:
- Eden II Programs - Our Plaza, West Brighton, Pathmark, and Pleasant Plains offices will be collecting for Eden II. The mission of the Eden II Programs is to provide people with autism specialized community based programs and other opportunities with the goal of enabling them to achieve the highest possible quality of living across their life spans.
- Staten Island Heart Society - Our Eltingville, New Dorp, Bulls Head, and Prince's Bay offices will be collecting for the Staten Island Heart Society. The Staten Island Heart Society promotes Healthy Hearts on Staten Island through educational activities, programs, events, enhancement of the public access defibrillation programs & to reduce the rate of death & disability from heart disease & stroke.
- March of Dimes - Northfield's Grasmere, Castleton Corners, Greenridge, and Bay Street offices will be collecting for the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.
- Lupus Foundation - All Northfield New Jersey offices will be collecting for the Lupus Foundation. The Lupus Foundation is the foremost national nonprofit health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus and providing support, services and hope to all people affected by lupus.
- Guild for Exceptional Children - All Northfield Brooklyn offices will be collecting for the Guild for Exceptional Children. The Guild is dedicated to addressing the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
